..........It is an excellently written piece, but also, for me at least, somewhat, well, odd—I must admit to being amongst the ranks of the scurrilous myself since I, too, am somewhat bewildered by this lengthy attack on the writing and position of Amy Goodman. Now, don't get me wrong: Ms. Goodman is in many ways a neo-liberal apologist even though she often writes with trenchant insight. But I am simply not clear what good it does in a world yearning for unity, allegiance, and common-front postures on the part of progressives to excoriate those with whom we agree mostly, if not completely. The list of the unforgiven is actually enormous:

..........If all these writers and thinkers are infected with a disease causing blindness, I guess I am not sure really who's left, then, who can be trusted (again, let me emphasize: not on everything, but surely on some matters). Such a diminution of 'the worthy' to smaller and smaller numbers leads ultimately in an unproductive, counter-revolutionary, and psychiatrically dangerous direction, does it not?

..........Now EL is quite keen on performing deep analyses of other authors' writing, and appropriately so, I suppose, although I am troubled by the possibility that, as when physicists attempt to fractionate matter into smaller and smaller bundles, ultimately at the most extreme powers of magnification all language becomes absurd. Can any physicist tell us out of what quarks are composed? If not, does this call into question these physicists' research, ideas, insights? Is there not also then a point where the human space-foam of language must intuitively transport meaning because semantic logic necessarily fails?
..........But in this aside EL would appear hoist by his own petard: after all, is he not condemning the entire political left of the current century because, as he asserts, some of its members may not be thinking clearly? A few parts sweepingly contaminating the whole? Of course the left may need occasional admonishment and adjustment and correction; but if the entire left is jettisoned in its entirely, what is (not to put too fine a point on things) left? What political position lurks in the darkened wing of the theatre of history to come galloping out to save the day?

..........Like finding out that your husband or wife is cheating on you; or that there's a lump in your armpit that you just can't ignore because it has grown to the point of formally announcing itself, gatekeepers of the Left are now being exposed. It was a shock to me. I didn't want to have to deal with that on top of peak oil; climate change for whatever reason—the sun increasing in temperature or excessive carbon dioxide emissions; population escalation beyond planetary carrying capacity; or the coming martial law just after a second "mass casualty producing event" that General Tommy Franks says will cause me to lose confidence in the constitution, and apparently cause me, he suggests, to demand a military government—Sparta U.S.A. But still, the evidence is coming in, like on one of those old-time stock or news ticker tapes. Instead of the sinking of the Titanic or Pearl Harbor under attack, it's "Flash! Amy Goodman (and a long train behind her) is a gatekeeper of the Left." To understand what a gatekeeper is, one needs first define the term, and then provide examples of gatekeeping and why it's so damaging to us, our lives, and to LIFE.
..........We all know that the MSM, the mainstream media, gatekeep—manufacturing carefully crafted news reports to shape our perceptions—Chomsky's "Manufacturing Consent." They can either not report on a story, or if the story is so big that it is oozing out across the spectrum, they can then reframe it in such a way to change our perception of it. That's those guys, and we all know that they do it. There's nothing new there.
..........But what if the Left is just as guilty of the same gatekeeping? What if most of the mainstream Left journalists aren't really the Left at all or are so controlled as to be useless or, worse, traitors? We have to allow ourselves the mental flexibility to allow that dangerous idea some time in our personal courtrooms. This site: leftgatekeepers.com has a chart chart (it's also in Barrie Zwicker's Towers of Deception) that shows the funding trail of most of the so-called Left journalists. Note the quote at the top of the foundation funding chart:

..........I used to donate to some of these organizations, including Democracy Now! but I no longer do. I recently received a funding request from Democracy Now! and noted that it included a group staff picture. If I counted correctly, there were over 23 people in that picture. Think of the tremendous amount of money it would take to finance a staff that size; the overhead must be astronomical. I mean, they are based in New York City, one of the highest costs of living cities in the world. I would guess that their annual operating expenses are well over $1M per year at the minimum, just for wages and benefits alone. Where are they getting that kind of operating expense money? What is their miracle that they could be passing on to other progressive organizations? I was involved in a co-operative radio station. Our annual operating budget was $60,000, and that was very hard to get each year. We had a staff of three, and the rest were volunteers.
..........Well, one of the IVs feeding Democracy Now! is the Ford foundation. Who is the Ford foundation? Bob Feldman tells us in this article that it's a C.I.A. front. What? The C.I.A.? That's a pretty strong accusation. With a gigantic organization like Democracy Now! wouldn't you think that they would be considering that kind of attack worthy of a libel suit? You'd think so, unless it's true.
..........Well, let's look at Amy Goodman's reporting, or should I say lack of it, in vital areas of our interest—the real national interest.
..........Let's start with the biggest story of the decade up to this point, the World Trade Center attacks. You can hear a special four-hour Democracy Now! report on the day of 9/11 here. I listened to all four hours. Goodman's reporting was based on watching CNN and reports from a few reporters out in the field. It was really quite boring. I'm sure that people would have tuned to CNN, where they would get video images. Now think about this fact, the Firehouse Theater—the home base of Democracy Now!—is three blocks from the World Trade Center site. Three blocks! If you were the star of the program, wouldn't you go to the site with your cell phone and do a live report: interviewing witnesses, describing what you were seeing in real time (like CBC's program As It Happens)? But no, Goodman just sat in the studio watching CNN. Then the reports from the field started coming in. One report came from a guy who claimed to be at some intersection and monitoring the police band frequencies. He reported that "Police are checking out a report of two dark skinned Arabic-looking men carrying backpacks." While Goodman chastised him because she confessed that she'd repeated a false story recently in the same vein, still the London-type 7/7 description was out there. In another "scoop," she had on the line a reporter for Free Speech Radio, whatever that is, in Ramallah, who said that he had a Palestinian who claimed responsibility for these attacks. With this story, I don't remember her asking the reporter to double-check this kind of potentially inflammatory report. Why? Wouldn't that be putting Palestinians at great risk in this country? Some totally ignorant Americans killed Sikhs after the Iranian hostage incident because they were wearing turbans. Some people during that time even went so far as to put big signs on their houses that said, "I'm not Iranian." Goodman should have known better. She's a broadcaster with tremendous power, and she could have gotten a lot of innocent people killed for that kind of reporting, especially if a major network had picked up the false report and rebroadcast it.
..........Lately, a Google video has surfaced, showing us an astonishing video of Amy Goodman watching the WTC7 building implode as she's running away from the flying debris. You can see it here. On the Google video are these questions, off the right of the screen:
....................Who told the fireman, cop, and Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! that WTC-7 was going
....................to implode??? Why were Ms. Goodman and many other people pre-assembled to see the
....................building drop about a mile north of the site??? Who provided them with this inexplicable
....................foreknowledge??? Why has Ms. Goodman never explained any of this, despite the fact
....................that she can be seen running & yelling, "Oh God!", as WTC-7 falls in a controlled demolition???
..........Well, this building fell in the late afternoon, long past the time of Goodman's broadcast that day on September 11. OK, so what did she report on September 12, 2001? You can listen to it here. Does she mention that she witnessed WTC7 fall? No, she emits not one word. Now think about that: If you were watching the biggest event since the Pearl Harbor attack, wouldn't you, whether as a reporter or just a citizen, tell everyone you knew, especially if you had a news program with a gigantic audience? And what did she report? Well, she had on Robert Fisk, one of the only Western reporters to have actually interviewed Osama himself—thus immediately reinforcing the Osama myth of a mastermind in a cave with a satellite phone and a laptop. Oh, yeah, and he's got to get dialysis treatments in that cave too.
..........This is really a glaring omission. Not one word—ever—about the North American Union has been radiated out of the transmitter of Democracy Now! I should call the North American Union by its camouflaging name, the Security and Prosperity Partnership. Beginning on January 1, 2007, the treaty that was never ratified by the Canadian Parliament, the U.S. Congress, or the Mexican Legislature came into full effect. A recent poll in the U.S. shows that 99% of the American public doesn't want to have integration with Canada or Mexico. That leaves only the 1% who own the world down here who would have voted in favor of it. The three countries are moving quickly to institute the union, as in this example reported yesterday and in this second one. I can guarantee you that if you check Goodman's site, there will be no reporting on this, or if there is, it will be a matter-of-fact report in the first minutes of the broadcast, downplaying the union's importance. Canadians, your medical plan is going to have a stake through its heart in no time. Water? Yes, thank you for giving us your water. You don't need it. It's soon going to be ours, or Mexico's. You people are just wasting it by letting it drain in the ocean. We need it more than you. Welcome to the North American Union.
..........In June will come the 40th anniversary of the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty. This ship was attacked in international waters on June 8, 1967 by Israeli aircraft and torpedo boats. The planes were unmarked and the boats had no flags flying. It had been known for several hours that this American spy ship was monitoring Israeli activity. The rest of the American fleet was in the Mediterranean. This was during Israel's Six Day War. The Israelis denied that they had made the attack and blamed it on Egypt. Dozens of American sailors were killed and over one hundred wounded. The attack went on for hours. It seemed clear that the Israeli military was trying to kill all the witnesses. Some reports say that the Israelis feared that the Americans had heard the fact that they were killing thousands of Egyptian prisoners of war and didn't want the report to get out. When Americans tried to launch life rafts, the Israeli aircraft shot holes in them. The president at the time, Lyndon Johnson, and the Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, both ordered the Mediterranean fleet to stand down, so other ships and planes were unable to come to their aid. In the end, Israel admitted blame but said it had been a "mistake." Most feel that it was a classic false flag operation. And it almost worked. Two American fighter jets, each carrying a conventional and nuclear bomb, were launched from an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean, their mission being to drop the nukes on Cairo. At the last minute, they were recalled; otherwise, Cairo would only exist today in picture books. Incredibly, a search of Democracy Now! archives shows nothing. This could have been a defining moment in world history, but not a peep. Amazing.
..........When she was finally pressured to have the two Loose Change producers on her program (their 9/11 documentary has now recorded 50 million downloads), Goodman did it in a debate format with two 9/11 deniers, the editors from Popular Mechanics magazine who had produced a special issue dedicated to trying to debunk the 9/11 "government did it" story.
..........When Canadian Julian Darley of the Vancouver-based Post Carbon Institute was attending a peak oil conference in New York City, Goodman must have received so much pressure that she was forced to put him on—but it was, once again, in a debate format, implying that peak oil is just a belief, like the belief in Jesus' second coming, not a geological fact. What? This stuff is going to come out of the ground forever? Then why are American and Canadian troops fighting in the Middle East and Afghanistan?
..........The facts are that we have traitors in our own house. We can personally investigate them and, if we determine that they are traitors, then, at the minimum, stop supporting them in any way. Canadian Barrie Zwicker has exposed the gatekeepers in his monumental book, Towers of Deception. His chapter titled "The Shame of Noam Chomsky and the Gatekeepers of the Left" is a tour de force. This is one of the finest exposures of deceit that you will read in a long time. I heard Zwicker on a talk show down here [that is, southern California as opposed to Canada's Alberta—EL] recently, and he made this astonishing but telling statement: "My good friend's wife says that she doesn't believe that 9/11 was an inside job. She said, 'When Noam Chomsky says it's an inside job, then I'll believe it.'" Zwicker also said something very important: "If there's going to be an opposition, then it must be a controlled opposition." These are hard pills to swallow, but once again, if you examine the evidence, you will see that we have traitors in our own house. The kind of power these people have to influence us is astronomical. It's clear that the American Left is no more instilled with critical thinking than those raving Ditto-heads that listen to that drug-addicted, Neo-con, talk-show host Rush Limbaugh. We've let these apparently unimpeachable towers of virtue hoodwink us and do our "research" for us, surrendering our responsibilities as citizens, as humans, in this life and in this world. The term for that is laziness. We are surrounded by gatekeepers, and Goodman is just one of the most visible. To me, she is a modern day Tokyo Rose, and I mean that with its deepest implication. If any of you study the facts, I feel that you will have no choice but to agree with me. By the way, Zwicker is scheduled for the upcoming Vancouver 9/11 Truth conference. Ask him what he thinks of gatekeepers.
..........Finally, was the Food for Thought 9.5.1 off base? I think that EL zeroed in exactly on target. In fact, I think he was too kind. For someone like myself who isn't skilled in the forensic analysis of the English language, I am extremely grateful for his skillful dissection. These are lessons by a master and not to be taken lightly in this time of utmost danger to life, our lives, and all life everywhere. We are swimming in an ocean of deceit and need all the help we can get to keep from drowning. The world is teetering on the brink. It could go one way and into extinction or it could go the other way and back to life and light. At a perilous time such as this, collaborators are still collaborators. They need to be exposed and have their heads symbolically shaved. After the next "mass casualty producing event," of the sort that Tommy Franks anticipates, the door will close not just on us, but on you Canadians, too. People who should know better seem to think that all the blustering is only a "fear mongering" sham. Well, you can believe that if it makes you more comfortable. But you can also believe the antipodal view point. Then what? Our two militaries have been formally merged for years in the military alliance known as NORTHCOM. One year it's headed by a Canadian general, and the next year it's headed by an American general. If you think that these forces won't be used against us both in the time of another artificially created crisis, you're sadly mistaken.
..........If 9/11 created a state of shock world-wide, and especially here, what will an even bigger one do? Is Amy Goodman going to challenge the Democratic leadership who say that "all options are on the table," meaning nukes against Iran? Even Senator Mike Gravel challenged the Democratic candidates on this issue in the April 26 debate among Democratic presidential candidates. Is Goodman going to do advocacy journalism, as needs to be done in this time of potential WWIII? Russian general Ivashov has gone so far to say that Israel will be sacrificed if Iran is attacked, which would seem an obviously unacceptable event. And yet look at this report and its headline: "Countdown has begun: US, Israel prepare for Iran strike in wake of new intelligence information." Is this just fear mongering? Are we going to have to wait for the insane surprise itself to learn the truth? Where are the gatekeepers on this? Where is Amy Goodman's exposing of this insanity, this step toward potential global catastrophe? Let's not sleepwalk into disaster. We've got to face the facts and denounce these people for their treachery. Time is running out. It may even be too late to halt the Juggernaut.

What if most of the mainstream Left journalists aren't really the Left at all or are so controlled as to be useless or, worse, traitors? We have to allow ourselves the mental flexibility to allow that dangerous idea some time in our personal courtrooms. ..........I used to donate to some of these organizations, including Democracy Now! but I no longer do. I recently received a funding request from Democracy Now! and noted that it included a group staff picture. If I counted correctly, there were over 23 people in that picture. Think of the tremendous amount of money it would take to finance a staff that size; the overhead must be astronomical. I mean, they are based in New York City, one of the highest costs of living cities in the world. I would guess that their annual operating expenses are well over $1M per year at the minimum, just for wages and benefits alone. Where are they getting that kind of operating expense money? What is their miracle that they could be passing on to other progressive organizations? I was involved in a co-operative radio station. Our annual operating budget was $60,000, and that was very hard to get each year. We had a staff of three, and the rest were volunteers.
..........Well, one of the IVs feeding Democracy Now! is the Ford foundation. Who is the Ford foundation? Bob Feldman tells us in this article that it's a C.I.A. front. What? The C.I.A.? That's a pretty strong accusation. With a gigantic organization like Democracy Now! wouldn't you think that they would be considering that kind of attack worthy of a libel suit? You'd think so, unless it's true.
..........Well, let's look at Amy Goodman's reporting, or should I say lack of it, in vital areas of our interest—the real national interest.
WTC Attacks and Amy Goodman's Reporting
..........Let's start with the biggest story of the decade up to this point, the World Trade Center attacks. You can hear a special four-hour Democracy Now! report on the day of 9/11 here. I listened to all four hours. Goodman's reporting was based on watching CNN and reports from a few reporters out in the field. It was really quite boring. I'm sure that people would have tuned to CNN, where they would get video images. Now think about this fact, the Firehouse Theater—the home base of Democracy Now!—is three blocks from the World Trade Center site. Three blocks! If you were the star of the program, wouldn't you go to the site with your cell phone and do a live report: interviewing witnesses, describing what you were seeing in real time (like CBC's program As It Happens)? But no, Goodman just sat in the studio watching CNN. Then the reports from the field started coming in. One report came from a guy who claimed to be at some intersection and monitoring the police band frequencies. He reported that "Police are checking out a report of two dark skinned Arabic-looking men carrying backpacks." While Goodman chastised him because she confessed that she'd repeated a false story recently in the same vein, still the London-type 7/7 description was out there. In another "scoop," she had on the line a reporter for Free Speech Radio, whatever that is, in Ramallah, who said that he had a Palestinian who claimed responsibility for these attacks. With this story, I don't remember her asking the reporter to double-check this kind of potentially inflammatory report. Why? Wouldn't that be putting Palestinians at great risk in this country? Some totally ignorant Americans killed Sikhs after the Iranian hostage incident because they were wearing turbans. Some people during that time even went so far as to put big signs on their houses that said, "I'm not Iranian." Goodman should have known better. She's a broadcaster with tremendous power, and she could have gotten a lot of innocent people killed for that kind of reporting, especially if a major network had picked up the false report and rebroadcast it.
..........Lately, a Google video has surfaced, showing us an astonishing video of Amy Goodman watching the WTC7 building implode as she's running away from the flying debris. You can see it here. On the Google video are these questions, off the right of the screen:

....................that she can be seen running & yelling, "Oh God!", as WTC-7 falls in a controlled demolition???
..........Well, this building fell in the late afternoon, long past the time of Goodman's broadcast that day on September 11. OK, so what did she report on September 12, 2001? You can listen to it here. Does she mention that she witnessed WTC7 fall? No, she emits not one word. Now think about that: If you were watching the biggest event since the Pearl Harbor attack, wouldn't you, whether as a reporter or just a citizen, tell everyone you knew, especially if you had a news program with a gigantic audience? And what did she report? Well, she had on Robert Fisk, one of the only Western reporters to have actually interviewed Osama himself—thus immediately reinforcing the Osama myth of a mastermind in a cave with a satellite phone and a laptop. Oh, yeah, and he's got to get dialysis treatments in that cave too.
Democracy Now! and the North American Union
..........This is really a glaring omission. Not one word—ever—about the North American Union has been radiated out of the transmitter of Democracy Now! I should call the North American Union by its camouflaging name, the Security and Prosperity Partnership. Beginning on January 1, 2007, the treaty that was never ratified by the Canadian Parliament, the U.S. Congress, or the Mexican Legislature came into full effect. A recent poll in the U.S. shows that 99% of the American public doesn't want to have integration with Canada or Mexico. That leaves only the 1% who own the world down here who would have voted in favor of it. The three countries are moving quickly to institute the union, as in this example reported yesterday and in this second one. I can guarantee you that if you check Goodman's site, there will be no reporting on this, or if there is, it will be a matter-of-fact report in the first minutes of the broadcast, downplaying the union's importance. Canadians, your medical plan is going to have a stake through its heart in no time. Water? Yes, thank you for giving us your water. You don't need it. It's soon going to be ours, or Mexico's. You people are just wasting it by letting it drain in the ocean. We need it more than you. Welcome to the North American Union.
The Israeli Attack Against the U.S.S. Liberty
..........In June will come the 40th anniversary of the attack on the U.S.S. Liberty. This ship was attacked in international waters on June 8, 1967 by Israeli aircraft and torpedo boats. The planes were unmarked and the boats had no flags flying. It had been known for several hours that this American spy ship was monitoring Israeli activity. The rest of the American fleet was in the Mediterranean. This was during Israel's Six Day War. The Israelis denied that they had made the attack and blamed it on Egypt. Dozens of American sailors were killed and over one hundred wounded. The attack went on for hours. It seemed clear that the Israeli military was trying to kill all the witnesses. Some reports say that the Israelis feared that the Americans had heard the fact that they were killing thousands of Egyptian prisoners of war and didn't want the report to get out. When Americans tried to launch life rafts, the Israeli aircraft shot holes in them. The president at the time, Lyndon Johnson, and the Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, both ordered the Mediterranean fleet to stand down, so other ships and planes were unable to come to their aid. In the end, Israel admitted blame but said it had been a "mistake." Most feel that it was a classic false flag operation. And it almost worked. Two American fighter jets, each carrying a conventional and nuclear bomb, were launched from an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean, their mission being to drop the nukes on Cairo. At the last minute, they were recalled; otherwise, Cairo would only exist today in picture books. Incredibly, a search of Democracy Now! archives shows nothing. This could have been a defining moment in world history, but not a peep. Amazing.
..........When she was finally pressured to have the two Loose Change producers on her program (their 9/11 documentary has now recorded 50 million downloads), Goodman did it in a debate format with two 9/11 deniers, the editors from Popular Mechanics magazine who had produced a special issue dedicated to trying to debunk the 9/11 "government did it" story.
..........When Canadian Julian Darley of the Vancouver-based Post Carbon Institute was attending a peak oil conference in New York City, Goodman must have received so much pressure that she was forced to put him on—but it was, once again, in a debate format, implying that peak oil is just a belief, like the belief in Jesus' second coming, not a geological fact. What? This stuff is going to come out of the ground forever? Then why are American and Canadian troops fighting in the Middle East and Afghanistan?

..........The facts are that we have traitors in our own house. We can personally investigate them and, if we determine that they are traitors, then, at the minimum, stop supporting them in any way. Canadian Barrie Zwicker has exposed the gatekeepers in his monumental book, Towers of Deception. His chapter titled "The Shame of Noam Chomsky and the Gatekeepers of the Left" is a tour de force. This is one of the finest exposures of deceit that you will read in a long time. I heard Zwicker on a talk show down here [that is, southern California as opposed to Canada's Alberta—EL] recently, and he made this astonishing but telling statement: "My good friend's wife says that she doesn't believe that 9/11 was an inside job. She said, 'When Noam Chomsky says it's an inside job, then I'll believe it.'" Zwicker also said something very important: "If there's going to be an opposition, then it must be a controlled opposition." These are hard pills to swallow, but once again, if you examine the evidence, you will see that we have traitors in our own house. The kind of power these people have to influence us is astronomical. It's clear that the American Left is no more instilled with critical thinking than those raving Ditto-heads that listen to that drug-addicted, Neo-con, talk-show host Rush Limbaugh. We've let these apparently unimpeachable towers of virtue hoodwink us and do our "research" for us, surrendering our responsibilities as citizens, as humans, in this life and in this world. The term for that is laziness. We are surrounded by gatekeepers, and Goodman is just one of the most visible. To me, she is a modern day Tokyo Rose, and I mean that with its deepest implication. If any of you study the facts, I feel that you will have no choice but to agree with me. By the way, Zwicker is scheduled for the upcoming Vancouver 9/11 Truth conference. Ask him what he thinks of gatekeepers.
..........Finally, was the Food for Thought 9.5.1 off base? I think that EL zeroed in exactly on target. In fact, I think he was too kind. For someone like myself who isn't skilled in the forensic analysis of the English language, I am extremely grateful for his skillful dissection. These are lessons by a master and not to be taken lightly in this time of utmost danger to life, our lives, and all life everywhere. We are swimming in an ocean of deceit and need all the help we can get to keep from drowning. The world is teetering on the brink. It could go one way and into extinction or it could go the other way and back to life and light. At a perilous time such as this, collaborators are still collaborators. They need to be exposed and have their heads symbolically shaved. After the next "mass casualty producing event," of the sort that Tommy Franks anticipates, the door will close not just on us, but on you Canadians, too. People who should know better seem to think that all the blustering is only a "fear mongering" sham. Well, you can believe that if it makes you more comfortable. But you can also believe the antipodal view point. Then what? Our two militaries have been formally merged for years in the military alliance known as NORTHCOM. One year it's headed by a Canadian general, and the next year it's headed by an American general. If you think that these forces won't be used against us both in the time of another artificially created crisis, you're sadly mistaken.
..........If 9/11 created a state of shock world-wide, and especially here, what will an even bigger one do? Is Amy Goodman going to challenge the Democratic leadership who say that "all options are on the table," meaning nukes against Iran? Even Senator Mike Gravel challenged the Democratic candidates on this issue in the April 26 debate among Democratic presidential candidates. Is Goodman going to do advocacy journalism, as needs to be done in this time of potential WWIII? Russian general Ivashov has gone so far to say that Israel will be sacrificed if Iran is attacked, which would seem an obviously unacceptable event. And yet look at this report and its headline: "Countdown has begun: US, Israel prepare for Iran strike in wake of new intelligence information." Is this just fear mongering? Are we going to have to wait for the insane surprise itself to learn the truth? Where are the gatekeepers on this? Where is Amy Goodman's exposing of this insanity, this step toward potential global catastrophe? Let's not sleepwalk into disaster. We've got to face the facts and denounce these people for their treachery. Time is running out. It may even be too late to halt the Juggernaut.
